Company pension plan - good deal?

    Grab it now! Any company pension is worth having, as the employer is giving you extra (free) money on top of your salary.

    10% sounds pretty good; most private sector employers cap their contribution at lower levels than that.

    Would advise also to work back from potential retirement date to see what you need to save - It will be a (very) large number , so make sure the contributions are realistic / sufficient.

    Do not underestimate just how much the world is changing for those (us) who will have to take and manage all our risk compared to final salary schemes. For many the world of retirement is going to be one heck of an uncomfortable place. Good luck - but get started now.
