Mortgage in Principle

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice, Ive been agreed for a mortgage in principle and sent in my bank statements etc, Im awaiting my offer but I'm worried as I got a payday loan, it was very much a one off to cover some unexpected expense, would this cause the underwriter to reject my application?

Also I had a CCJ around 5 years ago, I paid the debt immediately as it was more a case of me trying to negotiate the figure down with the finance company (my car was written off) would this have came up on the original credit check if it was going to affect my loan decision?

Appreciate your advice

  • I've seen lenders decline cases for having payday/wonga loans etc. However, this was on the basis it was every month.

Just the one off may not even be picked up as it shows no real issues.

The 5 year old CCJ may be the issue but if its already passed the credit score after declaring it on the application, then it should be fine
