How come NU would recommend Integrity if there is a problem with them. I thought that they were regulated by the FSA?

NU wont recommend anyone. How have you got the impression of this?

  • Hi,
They included a sheet in with the surrender quote with all the names and addresses of the companys that buy policies.
    Cheers
  • Have you tries all the companies listed here:

    Hi Again,
Yes, tried them aswell to no avail, none were interested apart from Integrity.
Mind you Integrity were the last people to reply.
  • Hi,
Just spoken to NU about the policy. Here are the details on the WP.
    UK Equity 41.3%
    Property 18%
    International Equity 13.1%
    UK Fixed Interest 9.7%
    Corporate Bonds 9.7%
    Cash 5.3%
    Overseas Bonds 2.9%
I also asked them what they are currently paying on Terminal Bonuses of policies maturing now. This is what they said:

£120 for every £1000 of Sum Assured and Bonus.
Also i asked them what the current SV was at today and it is £24.297.92.
This has increased by £821.34 since 29/9/06 although they say this is not guaranteed.

    Cheers

    Cheers.

  • Hi,
Yes it does look pretty good, although all those percentages mean nothing, zilch to me, just being a lil ole housewife...heheehe...
    Thanks for all your input....

So that's 72% in risk- based assets with likely high returns (this is almost as good as a pre crisis endowment  )
    UK Fixed Interest 9.7%
    Corporate Bonds 9.7%
    Cash 5.3%
    Overseas Bonds 2.9%[/qupote]

and less than 30% in safe but low return assets.

Definitely positive news :)I would hold for the windfall at least.

Keep it under review, get a surrender value every now and again to make sure it's staying on track. It never does any harm to make these companies aware that you are paying attention to what they're doing.Keeps them on their toes - otherwise they can get very slack :D
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
  • heheheee....it was so funny when i rang them...as u know an Indian based call centre.....very friendly though! When i asked what the %'s of the fund were...i think i stumped him...he had to go off for a couple of minutes training....LOL...but came back with the correct answers....
I do check regularly..usually twice or more a year.
    Thanks again
