i got a letter from a solicitor saying today saying i owe santander / abbey £12000 if i pay with in 14 day thay will take £6000. i dont have that money . i had a mortgage with abbey in 2005 i lost my job and lost my house .
do i make an offer
if so who to the solicitor or abbey ?

Certainly no more than £6k and hopefully less. Communicate through the solicitor representing the Abbey. Request a statement detailing the £12,000 liability as you need to be satisfied as to how its been arrived at.0
