Is the childminder aware that her arrears has been discussed with you?

Not very professional of the company is it !!!!
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

  • No! I spoke to her about this and she said that she is furious that a company can disclose this to anyone other than her.

I was going to add this to the letter but wasnt too sure how to put it.

I take it then that she has denied being in any arrears with the nursery.
Does her child also attend the nursery, just wondered how come she was paying supposedly in arrears too.

  • I'd put something in the letter to say that they have breached the Data Protection Act, as they should not disclose anybody else's account.

I think she needs to take the matter up with the company herself.

    It's a breach of confidentiality.

  • She has told me that she is currently behind by £40 but her daughter still atends and she is only 2 weeks late in paying it and has explained to them etc about this.

  • Also does anyone have anything on the data protection thing they have broke so that I can quote this in my letter.
    Thanks
  • I'm sorry to have to say this, but I would have to consider the possibility that the childminder had not passed your money on to the nursery.

Apparently she owes them money too and the fact that you have not received any communication from them could be explained by her not passing on any messages or letters they gave to her.

She may have been in financial difficulties and 'borrowed' your money with the intention of paying it back but found she couldn't.
