Tax when self-employed

I was made redundant last week as my employer went into administration. I have been forced to start my maternity leave immediately now due to this and so HMRC are paying me my SMP. I have been offered 2 weeks work for the next 2 weeks but will be classed as self employed. I will only be earning £350 per week so do I still need to register as self-employed and pay tax etc on this?
