  • Not sure if it helps, but I've noticed that the stock changes at the apple store quite often. Might be worth checking during office hours?
  • If you check out https://www.mynewipods.com you can buy one for 79.99 with free delivery!!!
  • Hi - I went on to apple site and got a 30g video ipod for son 4 xmas for same price as a brand new 4g ipod nano - it might be worth your wait for 1 to come up on site - also would like to add that it looks brand new and has brand new leads & headphones and with a 1 yr guarantee and it was fully charged.

Not sure about his site just had a mooch around and they seem to be in the U.S so therefore you could potentially face vat and duty and on your item, also there are a considerable number of spelling mistakes on the site, which im always weary of.

On the Ipod refurb front, its worth keeping an eye open on a daily basis, I was looking for a 30gb video for Mrs Phatbear and they had'ne had one for a couple of weeks then they came into stock along with 4gb nanos and 80gb videos.

    All the best

  • You may find something on this site

I haven't used it but they look pretty cheap

Look's like a refurbished product, but very cheap still! I'm even tempted to buy one at that price!

Edit: Just tried to go to the checkout page, but doesn't seem to be responding, anyone else have the same problem? If this continues, I may give them a ring tomorrow.
  • Does anyone else know if that site is reliable. I am very tempted at the prices they offer. Only 3 months warranty but still a potentially good deal.

  • Hi all, I have been lurking for way too long :hello:

I can't help on the Techsaver front, as the only threads I have seen about them are people asking if the are ok, no one seems to have heard of them.

As for the search for Ipods, I saw these mentioned on another site. I have bought from both companies in the last 12 months without any problems.

The spot on one claims to be last weekend only but at the time of posting was still available.

    Hope that helps someone

My dh has hinted he would love an ipod nano for Christmas (or a decent small MP3 player) but I know nothing at all about them! He is very fussy re sound quality and does like the small sized gadgets/boys toys! I was interested to read you got a 30g video ipod instead of a nano. Is this much better (other than extra memory obviously)? What does the video bit do (I'm guessing plays the singer's video for each song but that's just a stab in the dark)? I know that sounds a completely idiotic question but am an absolute numpty about anything to do with sound systems etc as I rarely listen to music (talk about opposites attract)! :o

They have a 30g video ipod on the apple refurb site at the moment but I have no idea what I'm buying and their details don't really help!

I would really appreciate any advice re what MP3/ipod to go for and getting a good price! I don't want to ask dh as I would really like to surprise him.

One more question, is it worth getting special headphones and/or speakers for a sound quality freak? If so, what ones?

  • I just phoned TechSaver, they promised me that the 30 Gig IPod is a refurb that has been returned to a main store (such as Currys). They are fully working, and are not faulty models that have been repaired. Apparantly they are models which people have returned due to them not likeing the colour etc.

I've just placed an order for mine, I'll let you know how it goes!

    Simon.
