You know I am new to this whole forum thing. I felt so alone yesterday and didn't know where to start and this seemed as good a place as any.
I just wanted to put some safe guards in place and needed a bit of advice as to how to go about it. I shall try to keep up with my payments on the c.cs it wasn't a problem when I had an income but I think it will become one I was given £2000.00 redundancy and i paid it straight into a c.c so that may have bought the payments down. I am stronger today but my mood swings so much. I know iI must take myself seriously.
Thankyou all Lizzy0 -
Lizzie hon, if you're new to internet forums, well welcome is all I can say! Whether by luck or judgement, you have found this place where you can get frankly wonderful support. You are no longer alone!
Glad to hear you're feeling stronger today - it is hard to stay strong with such debts, and hard to deal with the debts when you are not feeling strong, so that is a bit of a cycle. That is where a little expert help from the family doctor could help - just helping to take out some of the stress and stabilise your moods so you can get yourself strong again - it needn't be for long, just give yourself a break and a chance to recharge. And the CAB (also free) can help you deal with creditors, they may be able to get interest frozen, monthly payments reduced, etc - meaning you can take stock of where you are and how to get back on your feet.
Losing that job sounds like a massive blow, and you'll grieve it naturally, but you will find other jobs if you are resourceful, you may even find one you like nearly as much? It will take some perseverance, but get your stubborn side engaged and you will not just get through this, but you will beat it, and you will take on the world! In the meantime, is there anything that gets you really riled or have strong views on (cruelty to animals, prostitute trafficking, kids needing mentors, cycle lane networks, planting trees, anything!)? Perhaps look at doing a few hours a week volunteer work for a charity in that sector, or dogwalking for the RSPCA, or writing letters of support to political prisoners in China, or helping at a school (you get the idea) - something that will get your passions rising, and get you circulating on a regular basis. In short, something to replace the job you loved...and you never ever know where it may lead! Maybe you'll become a documentary TV director or maybe you'll walk rescued dogs on the hills every day to give them a second chance, whatever makes you happy and feel safe and stable and back in the world x0 -
This may seem strange from a random person on the internet, but I and many others know what you are going through. It's not nice, in fact it's bl**dy horrible, but things move on and they do get better.
I was made redundant a few years ago, my wife has been made redundant twice and each time it has led to new and better things. My career went through quite a change and I am much happier (and better paid) in my new job. My wife also went for a big career change after the first redundancy and after the second one has decided to be a stay at home mum for a few years and spend time with the kids. Who knows what will be right for you, but nows the time to find out.
Debt can seem like a millstone, but at the end of the day it is money, if you can't pay it back then you can't pay it back. End of story.
There are lots of charities and organisations who can advise on how to deal with debt (plus some of the folk on here know a thing or two). From your other posts you aren't afraid of a bit of hard work so do not let this beat you. Use your family and friends and the folk on here for support. There will be good days and bad days but always look forward.
