When word of this one gets round at family or village buffets there's a riot!
you will need:
1 packet of ginger biscuits*
1 pot of whipping cream
sherry*
decorations (choc buttons, chocolate curls, sprinkles)
a sanwich tray or similar
*for a kids version use
choc chip cookies
dilute orange squash
pour some of the liquid into a saucer
dip a biscuit both sides in the liquid
spread cream on one side and press another dipped biscuit on to it
stand on its edge on the tray and repeat until you had a log of biscuit cream, biscuit cream (as long as you like)
Cover with the remaining cream and decorate as you wish
Chill until you are ready to for it- log enough for the biscuits to soften, and devour!!!
Fool proof and a great simple addition to you Christmas buffet!

Yes this is a great recipe. I used to make it years ago, with ginger biscuits and with orange zest and a few tablespoons of orange juice in the cream.
You need to chill it for a couple of hours so that the biscuits go soft.
If you cut it diagonally you get a nice stripey effect.0 -
My stepmum's a vicar and she takes it church functions- have to make 3 or 4 as word spreads fast. It looks so innocent- but make sure to have a non-alcoholic one there for the kids (its only fair they get to try it too. Maybe a little sign to warn its got alcohol in- if its a big do you can't possibly warn everyone!:A 17/10/07-Started Rosemary Conley :ATotal loss so far= 4 stone 7lbs!In the magazine Sept 08:T0

You can use chocolate chip cookies instead of ginger nuts too. The version I have made is choc chip cookies sandwiched together with apricot jam, soaked in sherry, whipped cream on top, decorated with toasted flaked almonds. Yummmm

Remember this from years ago. Made it at school but I think we used orange juice to dip the biscuits in (must have done, no booze allowed
). Will give it a go with the sherry over Christmas, thanks. 0 -

Years ago, I had a flatmate who made this. She got the recipe from her sister and asked her if it should be stored in the fridge, 'How should I know?' quoth her cake-loving sibling 'I've never had any leftover'.
It is awesome.0
