I found in my local Asda Living this weekend the Binatone Homesurf 7 is reduced from £99.00 to £69.00.
This is an Android tablet running version 1.6. For technical people out there, it is not that great if you want lots of apps, however if you want something to quickly check the internet on, facebook or twitter for example, it is really not that bad.
I have one myself purchased at that price and I was impressed despite the lack of specification.
Note, you will need a micro SD card if you do wish to install new apps.
The price on the website is still showing as £99.00
(apologies if this is already on site somewhere, I did a seach and could not see anything)

Android 1.6 means no Angry Birds though!!0 -
Does the homesurf 7 have a dock? I know the homesurf 8 has a drop in charging dock, and this would be quite useful to me as I intend to use this as a remote as part of a home media solution, so if the 7 has a dock, it would be perfect at this price0

DONT BUY IT!!!! sorry OP for the caps and burst your post but I have to let people know this tablet is not all it seems
I bought it from Asda on Saturday 26th and returned it first thing sunday morning. It has no acess to the Andriod Market the only way to get any apps onto it is by downloading them from a unoffical looking site onto your PC / Laptop and then placing them on a memory card you have to buy and then slotting that into the Tab. So you NEED laptop or pc no choice in it. Its speed is killer it goes soo slow especially the internet even on my cable wifi I could have got it quicker using my phone and its 3G signal. The touch screen is really jumpy and it comes with a stylus (that should have alreted me straight away). Please dont buy it as it is only Andriod 1.6 and without rooting and modding wont go higher and even if you do root and mod its most likely not goin to be a smooth ride once you get there.
Once again Sorry OP just trying to help0 -

I know all of this, i have no problem loading apps the way they are meant to with this device, its clear form the manufacturers that it doesnt come with Android market, and that you have to load apps yourself. It's also clear that the screen is resistive not capacitive and as such the responsiveness will be much lower than a capacitive screen.
This is not a top of the range device by any means, but it will allow people to do a lot of the things they want, for a small price. If you do your research before hand you will know if its for you or not.
Personally, having used an even lower end device than this before, i know this device will be perfect for my home theatre needs, as long as it has a dock which I am waiting for confirmation on0 -
You can buy a dock for it but it doesnt come with the dock.0

Hi Everyone,
Tootiemac no need to apologise, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and you are correct there is no marketplace for the device.
I personally found that for a device to quickly check something here and there it is fine, I added the fbook app and it works on facebook very well and quickly. I have given it to my wife to use while she is recovering and so far it is perfect for her needs.
I personally would prefer something with a later version of Android and a marketplace but I am looking and waiting for that.
The touchscreen is resistive and not designed for multitouch games but if you are firm with it I have found it works.
It is not going to be for everyone, I would imagine it is perfect for someone who wants to have a quick browse on the internet.
Dchuraman, it does not come with a dock, that is only available on the Homesurf 8See Beyond the Light, Find your Darker Side0 -
if anyone does find a better one for under £100 though, please let me know lol
