You don't employ an accountant to manage your finances, you employ them to fiddle the books.

I've fixed your post for you. :D
  • With CIMA you're not allowed to even register as a student with a CCJ, but they don't go into detail about how old they are before they "ignore" them.

It's worth giving them a call and talking about it in advance... They seem to get much more annoyed about things when they "find out" rather than if they are told in advance.

    Good luck :)

It matters not what profession you are in - sorting other peoples finance I could do and keep them on the straight and narrow - I was in banking and have helped people when they have been in financial difficulties. Now my own was another story.... so never judge a book by its cover.... Billie x

The point is, if they arent good with numbers then its worrying that you could be asking them to be do your accounts, taxation without this knowledge, surely its a given that they would be checked. ;)

RattyKay - it certainly looks like you may be able to avoid a dmp - especially if you can trim some of the those figures - mobile, satelite etc.
I would tackle next as your first target for overpayment as it is a relatively small debt but a high interest rate and it should be an achievable target to spur you on to tackle the others.
Is there any way to increase your income - car boot sales? ebay? overtime? etc

Obviously if you can't manage to make your minimum repayments then you will need to consider a dmp but obviously this has implication in terms of defaults etc. I don't believe defaults are as big a problem as CCJ's etc but they are obviously not great - although they will dissapear after 6 years.
On a dmp if your creditors did decide to take you to court then I believe as long as you pay in full in 28 days you can avoid having a CCJ against your name but do check this out.
    Best of Luck
