FTB - Could we get a mortgage?

I realise this question has been asked a million times on this board, but I wondered if someone could offer some advice.
Me - 36 - Basic Salary £39k +commission (variable amounts each month), Very small amount of debt (circa £1000 on cc's), clean credit history (although lots of searches and a couple of late payments over two years ago.
Partner - 46 - Salary £55k, no debts, clean credit history.
We have £30k deposit between us.
We ideally need to look for houses priced around £250-315k, would we be able to borrow that amount with our deposit?
Just wanting some advice prior to seeing a Mortgage advisor, so any tips would be really useful.
Thanks in advance

With 30k deposit you would be looking at houses of 300k. 90% mortgages are expensive though, if you can stretch the 30k to a 15% deposit rates would be better.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
