Just done my last weigh in for April and managed to lose another pound so my total loss for this month was 7lbs.

Delighted with that but this weight loss thing is a mystery to me. Did exactly the same all month but first half lost 6lbs and second half only 1lb yet probably did more exercise second half of month. Ah well as long as the numbers are moving downwards who cares.

See you all on the May thread.

Well done MaLarkin - and have you measured yourself? you could be toning up and therefore increasing muscle mass?

Last check in for this thread is tomorrow folks (ie first of May) but so far we have lost 3 and a half stone between us

    Hi all,

Last weigh-in for April today resulted in me STS again. Had a few cakes yesterday at village afternoon tea Royal wedding celebrations. However today has been better as I have been for a walk and had healthy chicken salad.

See you on the May thread.

Am so glad April is over...another 1.5lbs gained this week :( gonna blame Easter and weddings and ice creams in the hot weather....oh and that other driver who ran into me as I still can't go gym properly. Obviously it's everybody else's fault but mine :rotfl:
Have put my name down for May with better intentions!

I have missed you all! :) I put on another pound or two over the Easter break and finally snapped. I have decided to go for the quick and dramatic fix. Low carb. Three days in and I am doing surprisingly OK! Breakfast is boiled eggs, lunch is a salad with some sort of protein and a tasty homemade dressing (with proper olive oil, none of your diet dressings, yuk). Dinner is more protein with some veg thrown in. I'm snacking on nuts and low sugar fruit, mainly berries. And that's it. NO bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, chocolate, biscuits, and NO alcohol!!!!

Text below is copied from the sugar addict thread as I am too tired to type it all again! :o

I ordered 'Potatoes Not Prozac', can't wait to get it. I have lots of diet books, from Mayr to Perricone to Beyond Chocolate to the Get Real Diet... they all inspire me but clearly they are not working too well!!!

I managed to get by at a gig last night with just sparkling water... was so proud of myself! My friend's birthday party next weekend will be harder, but maybe it's just more social pressure than anything.

Anyhoo... weighed myself this morning and I have LOST almost 3lbs since the start of the week!!!!  I am so chuffed. I know it's probably all fluid but it's given me such a huge boost. I am going to carry on.

I was really bored by my dinner yesterday (a chicken breast with green beans) - I hadn't time to cook properly before going out, and also really wanted some carbs. :o But I resisted, and it filled me up all evening. I didn't eat again and woke up this morning feeling much lighter! Woo!

Have a good day all xo

4lbs down in a week, this low carb thing really works (so far anyway!!!). It is very hard going but totally worth it. I will stick at it for another 2 weeks to see what results I get...
