Filling your car up may be a good idea because you don't drive out of your way to fill it as often but the bit about crap at the bottom of the tank is an old wives tale.
I had wondered about this...whether filling it once a week would be the better way to go...we are going to keep a record of petrol this week, and see if it would not be cheaper for OH to go to work on the train.King Elvis, get rid of the critters:eek::D, couldn't do that myself - be living in a caravan first:o.
Have 5 mutts myself and have never paid insurance on them and in a lifetime of owning multiple hounds have only ever had one that has needed anything major and that wasn't so major that it wasn't less than if I'd been doling out loads of money on insurance.
of course if the breed (s) you have do have lots of health problems or something that is ongoing, you may want to keep it, but i thought I'd pass on my experience.
No, couldnt get rid of the Mutts or Mogs. The dogs are middle aged, and I know only too well what happens to middle aged mutts in the rescue system. Id sell the clothes off my back before I sold them.
I am thinking about the insurance, I havent had to use it, and the excess is £80 (so anything minor wouldnt be covered) I have two mutts and a Rough Collie. I think I may cancel the cats insurance.I agree but some people view dogs as at aleast as important as their spouse and children.

Hi
Go to www.turn2us.org.uk for help on WTC/CTC.
Hang around on the forums or visit the pets section for advice on cheaper pet insurance.
Alternatively open an account and start to self insurance scheme. Cancel one cat's insurance and then save that money until you have a decent sum, then cancel say one dog and save his/her payments. When you have a good whack in the fund, cancel all the pet insurance. You are currently spending £1200 per year on insurnace and still paying for the minor costs anyway. Save that in a pet fund and you have enough to deal with any emergency, and if it is not used one year, you can pay it towards the debts. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I understand why people have that sort of loyalty to their pets.
Just don't get any more and don't replace any that pop their clogs for now.0
