I think people should be aware that this is NOT the official MAGNETIX product but a similar product produced by SUPERMAG.

The title may mislead people into thinking they're buying the MAGNETIX product.

You're right, this is not genuine magnetix. The fun factor is the same though :D

I agree with the poster who mentioned the loose magnets. I don't recommend this toy for anyone with young children. I don't know if one brand is worse than another but the magnetix I bought last year lost more than a few.
  • I ordered this for my son who is 6, does anyone have any opinions on weather this will be a good buy or not?

I suppose only you can really judge how sensible your own child is.

I would suggest playing together the first few times; you'll get chance to guage the quality and you can run through the whole 'don't put these in your mouth' routine while you are playing.

My son is 8 now and I started buying them when he was about 6. Then again, he never has been one to explore with his mouth ... have enough trouble getting him to eat dinner :D
  • Thanks for the reply, my son is quite sensible, hopefully should be ok!:D

    Are they compatible products though?

Like highly expensive wooden Brio and the cheaper counterparts that will fit together.
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.

    But, which ARE the original...??
    British Ex-pat in British Columbia!
  • All gone - may be back in stock though - keep trying!
  • My son loves these sets. I usually buy him geomag which is more expensive than magnetix, as for this product ~ supermag, I have no idea where that fits into it all!

    Thanks OP a great find!

Hi got ours in the post today (ordered it on Sunday) - for £15 it seems a good bargain.
  • Yes, mine just arrived. Delivery in under 48 hours! The box is small, but still good value for £15 I think. Things that glow in the dark are always a hit. Forgot to add, a superfast 'validation' from quidco too.
