Snap Clapton, although your advice was far more complete than mine. :D

I do have a little surplus each month, however its not guranteed amount. Did try two months ago for life of balance transfer and a 0% - both declined me. I know getting rid of barclaycard first is the way to go.

I do take my own food in - usually ready meal 2 for £3 job, just that drinks and the odd snack add to the bill.
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

    Try the spending diary.

You may find you have more left each month if you have to justify your spending.

If you can get rid of some debts and then cancel the card, it may put you in a stronger position to re-apply in a few months.

Add the Barclaycard to your sig, and update the outstanding balance every time you pay extra off, it will be a real incentive to get rid of it. :D

Are you still using any of your cards?

Well done, it's in Black and White now.

Let's see it reduce every month until you show it as paid off and closed. :T:
