Hi,
I am UK citizen, british passport working in the UK (Just to be clear).
I have been working for my current company for over 1 yr now. Therefore I have 'employment rights' which I am aware of but.. My question is:
Can I be Fired for Interviewing at another company? (if my current employers find out)
Thanks
Peter Smith.

Not on that information, no.
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
You mean going for an interview at another firm. If you dont tell them then how will they find out, they will only know when you have been loking for another job when they ask for a reference from your employer. I told my manager early part of this year or latter part of last year I was loking for another job and i wasnt fired so you will be ok.
As long as you have booked the day off as holiday/leave rather than taking a sickie (and then they find out) you could be fired as emmzi says0 -
you can't be fired for interviewing, you CAN be fired for lying about why you had time off eg claiming sick when notDebt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
And even if you don't lie about it, if they find out or suspect, they may look for reasons to get rid of you. But there's a process to be followed, and as you've been there more than a year they would have to give a reason and due notice.Signature removed for peace of mind0
