He is absolutely about as unexcited as it is possible to get.. he doesn't like the one he has another is adding insult to injury.. He keeps mentioning termination he is so excited.

It was meant to be harsh.. subtle and I are very rarely in the same sentence!

    1. He is probably scared! His male brain (yes I know that's an oxymoron) has worked out that when dot arrives and you're breastfeeding then he will be more responsible for squeak!

I have 16 months (and 1 day) between DD1 and DS. DS was a very hungry baby and it was hard - especially as I wanted to put DD1 to bed occasionally.

Our solution was to make DS's evening feed a bottle. This meant that OH could give it and we could share the duties around...... We also did this when DD2 came along 21 months later...

At some point in time you will have to give up breastfeeding squeak. I was ORDERED by the hospital to give up when I went for my booking in appt with DS!!!!!!!!!! (DD1 would have been 11 months old). So at this point DD1 went onto a bottle at night...

in my humble experience men get better with babies when babies start doing things - crawling playing with toys etc......

There is another point I would like to make and it may make me unpopular but i have to say it:-

We were told in school sex ed lessons that if you have sex before you've started with aunt flo you can still get pregnant.

The midwife that took the antenatal classes I went to with DD1 went out of the way to point out THE SAME APPLIES WHEN YOU'VE HAD A BABY!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU ARE BREASTFEEDING THEN YOU MAY START OVULATING AGAIN - AND SOME FORM OF CONTRACEPTION IS NEEDED!

Why are you screaming? I am fairly sure it is not needed.

I asked the doc for contraception months ago.. and she said no.. I have already said this previously if you've not read that then maybe you should before jumpng to conclusions. I also asked about termination and she said no to that too.. and tried to justify her reasons which I don't feel I need to discuss or disclose to you.

I am not asking you to look after my children so I don't see why you are getting yourself so worked up about it.

I think you will also find that exclusive breastfeeding causes a high level of hormones which suppress ovulation (never for less than 14 months before for me) so it is a 'natural' way of spacing pregnancies and extended breastfeeding is used in many cultures as such. I have also breastfed through pregnancy before (2 year age gap so not the same at all nor proving anything) and tandem fed so unless she chooses to self wean Squeak will continue to be fed as long as she wants.

I am not compaining about having the baby.. and OH has only known less than a week. It took me about 3 weeks to get my head round it so I'm not expecting him to be jumping for joy I would like him to be a little more positive about Squeak TBH. She is here, she is lovely most of the time and I think he is very lucky to have such a healthy baby.. I just wish he could see it that way.

So your point is completely off bat and way inappropriate.. and totally irrelevant.. and if you have anything else to add to your drivel I would be pleased if you would take it off the flylady thread where it is completely inappropriate.
