No contact from creditors! Advice please

Options
Hi there

I have been in a DMP for 1 year now, and having become a fully fledged member of this site this week I have been reading around. Several members have said that they get statements from their creditors showing the balance outstanding.

I have perhaps been a little naive and thinking because I was on a DMP it was all in hand. I owe the following people:

Argos: they froze interest and I receive a statement monthly
Studio24: they froze the interest and I receive a statement monthly
Lloyds Loan: I have heard nothing from them I don't even know if they have frozen the interest
Lloyds C Card: As above, no contact whatsoever not a monthly statement

Lloyds Overdraft: this has been taken over by a DCA this month!!

I am so cross with myself and cannot believe how stupid I have been

I guess my question is should I be receiving statements from Lloyds and the DCA, and if I should is there a template of a letter I can send to say that I would like this information?

Sorry this is a bit rambling I am just a bit miffed with myself

Thanks in advance all advice is greatly appreciated

I dont see what you've done wrong, dont be so hard on yourself! Just write to them requesting a statement. It should show all your payments reducing the balance and if the interest has been frozen.

If the interest hasnt been frozen, write straight back requesting that they freeze it, that it will take you x amount of months/years or never will pay it off if they dont. (of course send recorded delivery). Good luck :)

I thought National Debtline had a template letter for this on thier website, but I can't see it (could be me being thick). If they do it'll be under Section 5 here http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php

Failing that it's really quite simple:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    REF: 123456789

I am writing to request an up to date statement for my account, showing my recent payments.

    Yours Faithfully,

There isn't any need to break out the technical language for this one, unless they refuse, but that's unlikely.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
