Hi,
Have recently begun to receive CA for my mum. I receive a small Civil Service Pension out of which tax is taken at source. As CA is a taxable benefit, will HMRC have been informed by DWP or will I have to notify them myself? Don't want to end up with a demand for unpaid tax.
Thanks for your advice in advance.

Tell HMRC in writing and keep a copy of the letter. You can't rely on DWP telling HMRC about it (assuming that they do is the reason why some people have underpaid tax and are now being asked for it back).
" you still need to tell your Tax Office about new sources of income and any changes to your income if:- you pay tax through PAYE on income from a job or pension and your other taxable income changes or becomes liable to higher rate tax "
(HMRC website)
