Freezing my credit card just saved me £150!

Hi Guys
Just thought I'd share a bit of a moneysaving triumph. Following a tip I saw on here, I put my credit card in a bowl of water in the freezer, when I went for an eye test this morning, the woman in the opticians tried to convince me to take up their 2 for 1 deal on glasses which I nearly did BUT I would have ended up paying for 2 sets of expensive lenses at £150 each:eek:
In the past I would have got both pairs but I said I needed to go and get my credit card so while I was waiting to get my card out of the ice I thought about it and decided to get the free second pair of glasses but with standard lenses (which are included free) instead of the expensive ones at £150.
(I know I could have got the glasses cheaper online but I like being able to try the frames on and the fitting at the opticians).
Just goes to show how this site has changed my attitude to money because in the past I would have put both pairs of glasses on my credit card and not even thought about it - and from this month I'm starting to put money away so I have the money saved in advance the next time I go to the opricians:money:

Brilliant tip. One thing I do when I go shopping is walk away from anything I think I must have, and if I remember the item later I go back for it. But usually, by the end of trailing round shops, its too far to go back, so I don't bother. Or decide to go back the next day. The thing that you remember a day or two later is the one to buy - if you really must!!!!0
