http://www.cresset-group.com/products/fieldalign/design-a-molecule-competition/
Cresset is running a competition to find the world’s most creative chemists. The challenge is simple – find the most bioisosteric molecule to a reference compound that we provide. To help you on your way we will provide a free 30-day FieldAlign demo license, a reference molecule and a series of aligned molecular fragements that you can use or ignore as you wish.
The catch – we want you to design structurally diverse molecules that are still chemically reasonable and drug-like.
To enter the competition simply:
Register for a 30 day trial of FieldAlign here
Download and extract the starting FieldAlign project file
Design your molecules and then export your best
Check out our blog for hints and tips
Submit your aligned molecules as an sdf file using this form
The winner of the competition will be the submitter of the highest scoring molecule*.
This competition will run between 22 March 2011 and 8 April 2011. The winner will win a shiny new iPad2.
We will also be at the ACS conference in Anaheim (we are in Booth 664 if you would like to visit us) and we will have a show special competition – the best molecule received during the show will be announced on the last day of the ACS meeting and will win a bottle of champagne.
*The Small Print: We will use the Field alignment score for your molecule to the reference molecule. However, molecules with high 2D similarity or high calculated logP with receive a penalty and are unlikely to win. Feedback showing the score for your molecule and describing which properties of the molecule are being penalised will be provided on request. The winner will be the molecule that, in the opinion of the judges, represents the best design chosen from the top scoring results.

Hi, please would you be able to add/amend the end date in your thread title so that it follows the forum rules for end dates. This will also make it much easier for other compers to find your comp when the end date is getting near - so more people can enter it! It will also make it a bit easier for our Board Guides, who have to find the ending ones to move them into Game Over. Thanks!
Just click edit & advanced. eg E: 08/04 Win an iPad2 (effort)
rather than..............E: 8/4 Win an iPad2 (effort)
.
Cheers for the effort0 -
The date format of these forums is daft - it should be month then day. That way, if you order entries by topic, the results are in date order.0

We all comp in varying ways so maybe what you say is valid for some.Personally I just use the date as a notice of when the comp ends & not a device to enter with or such thing. The date format of these forums is daft - it should be month then day. That way, if you order entries by topic, the results are in date order.
You are allowed to raise this in the discussions area & seek that the format is altered.Posting it in this thread may just get your comments passed over & not seen by admin or the BG team.0
