I daren't even count the cost of my OH birthday weekend away! I'll just stick myself in the red...going to try to go for £0 aside from budgeted for spends (so there's £60 in the budget that will go out tomorrow, but no frivolous spends in newsagents' after work!)...oh god wish me luck :P

Good morning everyone!
Checking in early today (as my body clock is all over the place!) to report that I've worked out my budget for the week and I'd like to pledge £60 please Pointy - thank you!
I'd really like to buy a few things this week, but I'm going to try and resist and put it off until next week after I've worked out what I really need and what I just want!
Have good week everyone, and a big hello and welcome to the thread to the newbies!:money: Proud to [STRIKE]be dealing with[/STRIKE] have dealt with my debts! :money:

Evening all
Finally got round to updating the first post, should be all done now.GroinSexyPavement wrote: »HelloI'd like to take part in this challenge, but bend the rules a little bit if that's ok..
Basically I want to track all of my 'non-essential' spends each month (so everything except regular bills, groceries and commuting costs). It would really help me to have somewhere to check in a few times a week to keep me on the straight and narrow.
For April I wasn't going to set a budget, but just try to keep my spending as low as possible, and then set a lower budget for May.
Is it ok if I join you guys?
Welcome it is an interesting username you have there. Welcome to the gang let us know you pledge and I will add to you the list.
Welcome to all, new and old:beer::beer:
Spends this week have been:- £4 cigarettes
- £6 stuff for hols
- £20 coffee, breakfast and lunches at work (I have been lazy this week)
Enjoy the rest of your week everyone and I will catch up with you all next Monday.:jWeekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

For me, a spending diary is so much help.
Also being strict with yourself and not making excuses to go over budget, because no matter how important that last minute frivolous spend feels at that moment you will get over it!!
Checking your bank balance everyday helps so that there are no nasty last minute "surprises" helps to keep me in check to!!My Debts:
Barclays Overdraft - £1600 Capital One CC - £1200
March Targets:
Barclays Overdraft - £500 Capital One - £75.52 (Double minimum payment)0 -

Thats what I use this challenge for too, anything thats not covered by DD or SO. I have to agree with Serendipity, spending diaries really highlight where the money is going. Very useful.
My current total is £21.33. Think I should make my target for this week.
