Jobseekers allowance work placement

I'm 18 and on New Deal job seekers allowance, i'm due to start a work placement in the next month at a chicken factory which i'm dreading because i'm vegeterian but obviously i have to do it, i was wondering if i get any more money than my £50 per week for the work i'll be doing and was wondering how many hours per week it is? i've asked at the job center and he looked at me blankly and said "i couldn't tell you, bye" :mad:
so..
anyone know?

I have a mate who's just starting one aswell, He said its for possibly 2-3 days a week and for 12 days in total, I don't think you get extra money only travel expenses, It's basically free labour for greedy company's, The Job Centre always say you could be employed after the placement but I doubt you'll be taken on full time, They will use you for the 12 days then get another person on a placement for another 12 days and so on and so fourth.
