transfer of mortgage

hi i am new to this so if this is in the wrong place, please can you direct me to the correct location.
Me and my partner have separated and have a joint mortgage.we are wanting to transfer the mortgage into just my name and make me soley responsible for the house.
i don't have the greatest credit rating and did miss a payment on the mortgage 5 months ago but if have since resolved this with the bank. I can easily afford the mortgage.
I have spoke to the bank and they have said that it my application may get declined but the can refer it and look at my income and outgoings and asses the application based on this
can anyone advise how likely it would be for my application to be accepted?
Also-are guarantors still accepted these days as my father is quite well off and would be able to act as one. do banks still accept these?
any help is much appreciated.
thanks

I went through a similar process 3 just over 3 years ago.
The transfer is a relatively straightforward procedure, however, everything depends upon your affordability.
Do a couple of internet searches for "how much can i borrow?" especially from you current lender and see if your income will stretch to the level you require.
In my case i was short and had to reduce the mortgage by 15K before being able to have it in my name.
Your application will only be accepted if your income, minus outgoings, supports the loan amount. You will be able to get a good idea from doing the above.0
