trying to take husband off the mortgage

Hi everyone
A lady i work with has the following dilemma and i was wondering if anyone could point her in the right direction. In early 2010 her marraige split up and the husband left the family home. She stayed there with the 3 children. Husband is paying money regularly through CSA and has now stated that he is happy for her to take his name off the mortgage and he wants no money or anything from the house. She is happy with this as it means that he can no longer have a hold over where her and the kids will live. The only problem is the mortage company wil not allow her to take the husbands name off the mortgage. She only works part time so if she had to re-apply for a mortgage she wouldn't be able to get one. Her father agreed to becomea kind of guarentor but again the mortgage company would not agree to this. Any suggestions on how she can move forward?:)

I was in a similar position with my house when I divorced, I only work part time too but I did luckily manage to get the mortgage changed to my name.
Has your friend been into the bank and had an appointment with a mortgage advisor? I did this, its quite a long appointment and she managed to make the figures add up so that I could get the mortgage and was very helpful.
Good luck to your friend0
