Employer wont give me 39 weeks statutory maternity pay? Is this right?

No, if you qualify for SMP that means you get the full 39 weeks.
I suspect a clerical error or perhaps an assumption you'll be starting your leave at 29 weeks ie when you CAN take it from, not when you have to.0 -
Thanks Roobarb, I am taking it from 29 weeks starting 4/4/11 but that should still take me up to the 1st of Jan at 39 weeks? The date they are telling me i stop gettin paid SMP is after only 28weeks on the 15th oct?x0

The only way to find out is to ask them why they have put the wrong dates in the letter.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

Finally got hold of them after ringing 4 tines & leaving messages this morning & turns out they DIF put the wrong date on the letter! Grrrr. Thanks for all ur replies guys x0
