Hi I am in the middle of remortgaging and the bank has offered to pay all fees.
The banks solicitors are acting on behalf of the bank is it safe to use this method as there are a few details which look scarey to me like handing power of attorney to the bank?

The bank will do the barest minimum for you. If you accept that then its fair enough. Obviously you are not getting it free. Mortgage deals typically cross subsidise. So, the conveyancing is being paid for by the bank who will then recover that cost in another area (slightly higher rate, higher exit charge or something along those lines).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
