Hi

Just thought I would let people know that we sent Mort app on Mon, spoke to underwriter on Friday and was approved later that day. Just incase people are wondering how quick FD are processing at the moment.

This happens with all lenders, but it's pot luck. You would find people who have spent months with them and been turned down. Depends on thousands of factors.
  • I didn't realise that.

Our application was in 10 days ago, and they are still asking for more of this, that, t'other and which!

Went to buy a pair of shoes today. Took me 4 minutes, first shop, my size and on sale, just in case anybody is wondering how long it takes to buy shoes.

Now of course you may not like brown shoes, not take a size 12, and not like the soles in which case you will not take 4 minutes to buy a pair. You will need a second, third, fourth, even fifth shop to get the shoes.

A mortgage application cannot be used as a comparison as to what somebody else will get. One may be 30% LTV, 1 x basic income on a house which is valued on hometrack or similar. That does not mean a 90% LTV, 4 x income (some of which is overtime and bonus) on a house which has been extended will be looked at and offered in the same timescale.

  • Yes of course, but at least it shows they can process quickly if things are straight forward.

Yes it can be a pain ....... we had to go through a lengthy call with underwriter and made sure every single document they asked for was sent. I am really pleased with FD and the fact that we have cut out the middle man! Good Luck, I hope it's not too long for you now.
