Had one last night. They only had self scans open so I asked for a manual till to be opened so I could use my Asda voucher which was over the 9.99 self scan limits.
Oh no, we can't do that she says. I could see her tone was beligerent and unlikely to change so I just said its half past midnight, are you suggesting I can't shop in Tesco and have to come back tomorrow? Yep she beamed.
I just demanded to see the duty manager who simply fired up a till at CS with his own id number and put it through for me. He was an absolute star. Meanwhile the 'old crow' was discussing my voucher with another 'old crow' and asking if we accept those asda vouchers (great training again as she didnt even know what they were) to which the other one turned and gave me a withering look as she says yes he's been on the internet to one of those sites so he can deliberatly pay too much and get his shiopping for nothing.
I held my bag aloft and bid them a very cheery goodnight as I left the store.
Guess what I'm doing for 'sport' tonight?? :rotfl:
By the way I've found most staff to be great but then I always try to be nice as I think its a better approach. When I meet beligerence though I just meet it head on with lots more!
Well I had my 'sport' last night. Took my recycled voucher in to spend, low and behold they had only the self scans open. The SA I wanted to wind up had sneaked off so I spoke to another SA who is very nice and helpful (she's on my FB too lol) as she wanted to know how it all worked anyway.
Duty manager duly authorised the opening of a manned till and I put my items on the conveyor. She beeped them all through and I explained how it all worked as she did so.
At that point the said 'old crow' crawled out from the woodwork and came wondered over asking if I spent my whole life on the internet. She looked at the till screen and exclaimed that I was getting 'all that lot' for just under a pound. Good innit I said with a smile and suggested she took part in the scheme as the T&C's allow staff to do so. At this point she picked up my old receipt and exclaimed with trembling hands and a shaky voice that this was the receipt from the other night when I'd gone in. I know, I said still grinning from ear to ear.
She put the receipt down and went for a fag break muttering about how this promotion won't last long with people like me about.
She was still staring at me as I drove out the carpark!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Jump back about 10 paged to get an idea of what works/doesn't etc.
basically people 'try' items that they think will /should work & hope Tesco agess. It's a bit of a lottery really but once you know it works go go go till it stops & you find something else to take it's place.0
