My Dear Martin,
I wrote to you a few days ago about a personal problem under the reference http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=42328222&postcount=557
I realize now that my personal problems were possibly off-topic, but I thought that I might update you (and the posters reading this) about happenings in my life.
In response to my my request for help, I did indeed two replies.
The first was from a lady called "MissWhiplash3333". Initially, I was very pleased with the lady's suggestions, but after a short flurry of emails I realized that this lady was not for me. Her suggestions about the "Kelly's Cornish Clotted Cream Ice Cream 1Ltr £3.56 £2.00" were quite improper (although to be fair, I am a quite naive individual) but when she moved on to "Doubling the Difference" , I felt that I had to break-off any further communication. But, for those on a budget this looks like a suitable buy.
My second communication was from a Russian countess, no less.
Her name is is "Tescovana Shopislki" and she is very keen on meeting an English gentleman with a view to marriage, and I appeared to fit her specifications. Unfortunately, with language difficulties and the distances involved, I have stopped any further communication, but I did advise her of the superb deals that are available at Mr Cohen's Emporium compared with the products at Mr Asdonovitchs, and earnestly suggested that she take advantage of the "Wkd Vodka Red 70Cl T £3.07 A 2 for £5" which is, I understand, a local drink in her fair country.
I am still progressing with my maiden in Mr Cohen's Emporium and, with your permission, I shall update you later.
Your,as ever,
terryw

I noticed people who have rang up are saying the CS said they're checking for fraud. How exactly are they checking? Are the receipts with only DTD successes flagging up as fraud? I did a shop tonight where every item was a DTDInternet earnings:
Swagbucks - £748
InstaGC -£73
Nielsen Mobile - £70
Mobile Trends - £19.50
iPoll - £150 -
please can someone just tell me
if the £20 cap is per house/email
can i do one shop n husband do another and use 2 emails and get 2 vouchers0 -

This is so unfair! I thought that MSE peeps were a caring bunch. I have come here with a very personal real-life problem and I am accused of indolence.
My true love is the lady who shares the aisle with me in Mr Cohen's establishment, and things are progressing there but I shall report on this in my next personal letter to Martin.

Sorry for raking over old ground but just back online before bed as I have an interview tomorrow that I've been prepping for and noted that my forum nemesis had reappeared.
I am sorry if you found my comments earlier relatively inane although I do see some relevance in them especially in your later point highlighting the plight of the farmers and heroic actions in trying to secure a Pizza Express voucher for some poor urchin who might need it. For info, I am 39 but am pleased that you appear to believe I have an outlook that's somewhat younger than that - it makes me feel quite proud!
Unfortunately, as a result of the economic situation in dear old Blighty, my role was made redundant at the start of this year and after a few years of excess and frittering away my salary in my 20's I came into my 30's with a different outlook of trying to save rather than spend. So, I signed up for MSE and saved some money, something I'm really grateful I have done since it's tough to find a job nowadays (although if you are indeed a YSM then I'm sure there's a role for you out there) and this Tesco loophole is one that I've been keen to use to my advantage. So, with my parents and neighbours help, I have, in full compliance of Tesco's own T&C's now got plenty of wine and other drinks so that I can invite friends over for BBQ's in the Spring & Summer, meat in the freezer to cook and enjoyed food which I haven't been able to for the past few months.
Anyway, the moral of my story is this - thanks to the good folk on this thread (present company excepted) I have been able to live beyond my means and yet within my means paradoxically these past two weeks and I tell you what, it has given me a new found confidence so for that, I am really grateful and I feel much more happy about the society and communities I inhabit.
Whereas you appear to look down on people like me and others on the thread who have managed to upgrade their lifestyle albeit temporarily, I can assure you that between the two of us, the feeling is entirely mutual!yummy.scrummy.mummy wrote: »That's ok.. I'm sure you can spare a thought for those farmers which will go out of business as you all rack up your freezers with frozen meat as tescos squeeze them some more to cope with the sudden loss in profits because im sure they wont absorb the sudden extra costs.
my post isnt about anyone being wealthy or poor, its about having some sort of morales and realising that some people here are effectively theiving, bad company or not it shouldnt be resorted to this to highlight a point to them because i doubt they would absorb the cost which then just puts more pressure on other businesses which cant afford to pay their bills or their labour costs.
and i'm not the other half, i never said i was? its about convinience not about what class i am.. the travel costs will be much higher for me to go to asda than tescos. i have money set aside each week for groceries and i budget and intend to spend the same week by week, but i wont suddenly change my whole diet just because it might be free!
& please dont keep saying tescos is more expensive.. me inputting my basic shop without checking the prices came back as tescos being cheaper than asda. if you want a cheap shop then there are places out there which are a lot cheaper than these two!0 -
Terry,
The only thing I want to check is......should we buy a hat yet and if so, does anyone know if Mr Cohens establishment delivers any with a good DTD return?
