My Mum & Dad are looking for recommendations for Dog Kennels in the Lanarkshire area (they live in Uddingston).

It'll only be for 2 weeks, as they're off on holiday to Florida so can't exactly take the dog with them :p, but want somewhere as close by as possible for drop off/collecting.

If anyone could recommend places they've used before, or know of, that'd be great.

Thanks

The Willows in Larkhall is fabulous, have used it over the past few years and would highly recommend it.

Hi Debs, thanks for your reply.

My Mum booked a place in Blantyre, last week, after a list of recommendations from the Vets.

God help them though having to watch Hollie for a fortnight, she'll be pining for my Dad (she's a daddy's girl) the whole time.:D

Here is my responce on another thread:

I would recommened Crowbank Kennels just outside Cumberbauld.
    http://www.crowbankkennels.co.uk/kennels.html

When we got our black lab put we toured virtually every kennels in North Lanarkshire and Crowbank stood out and my dog has gone 3-4 times a year for the last 8 years and I have always found their service to be fantastic.
We were in Australia for 6 weeks last year and I had not hesitation about leaving her there... if fact she loves going, regonsied the road and gets excited!!!
The dogs are walked everyday ( very few do this) as well as being aloud to run in exercise yards. My dog has a quite serious medical condition and they are more than happy to deal with it.
And the real plus is the they normally bath the dogs before they send them home!!! So no kennel smelling dog although they are the only kennels I have ever visted that don't smell of dog!!!!

I could not recommened them highly enough ( I am in no way connected to them)

Down side... you need to book early for busy times as they are very popular!

  • I would highly recommend the Pakefield Boarding Kennels, it is a very small kennels with only around 30, it is family run with all te dogs getting plenty of attention. I have been using them now for 9 years, with my dog at one stay being there for 3 months. findnetone lists them.
