Hi,
Looking to buy jerusalem artichokes. Can anyone recommend a grocers/shop where I can find some. Tried my local Te$co$ but no joy and there's no greengrocers left in my town that i know of.
ps. In Bangor area but would travel to buy - they are for planting
cheers

I have found them in St Georges market (not great quality) and on Ebay (surprisingly good quality)
I did plant some last year myself but they produced no 'fruit', well actually I planted 3 plants and I got 3 small artichokes - not sure why as all I hear is how prolific they are!0 -
I got mine from Waitrose (unfortunately not the really smooth 'Fuseau' ones, but JA are not easy to find so beggars can't be choosy :-) ) - I didn't think of Ebay!
They have always been prolific for me even though I repeatedly grew them in the same spot without really enriching the soil. I took a couple of years 'holiday' but want to grow them again. Good luck!0 -
They are available in homebase - packs of 2 at £1.99. They are going fast..!0

I grow these myself. I have loads of them. I live near Ballymena.
They are easy to grow and fab to use. I usually made crisps from them as the kids love them and they taste great.
I would be happy to sell some?:beer:0 -
Please note that it would be a breach of forum rules to advertise, buy or sell on the forum as it involves exchange of personal details.0
