Hi why not look into fostering when your daughter leaves home. Child minding ,dog walker, house sitter lots of people need someone to look after their homes whilst away.0

Hi, you have done really well getting where you are. When your daughter leaves your income will fall and it would be diffficult for you to bridge that gap without more hours. At 54 it isn't that old but getting work is a good deal harder. It may also put more strain on your health which you seem to be managing very well at the moment.
Would it be possible to approach your creditors for a re-working of your payments or perhaps approach a debt charity nearer the time and see if they could help you? Some of this may make your debt linger longer so to speak, but might be easier on the nerves.
Hope you find some light at the end of the tunnel.0 -

That's a good idea - I had not considered a debt charity at all. Thankyou for taking the trouble to reply and your encouraging remarks. I think there's going to be quite a few of us working till 66 whether single parents or not.
Unfortunately I owe 27,000 which feels like a lot to pay off at this age - will post an SOA when I have done a spending diary to see where the discretionary spending is going.'Bird bird, bird is the word'Long Haul Supporter's Thread no.269The RamonesPresent debt £224365.56Debt free June 2016
