Car on Finance

I had this exact problem with welcome collecting my car after i cancelled my HPI. I just parked it up and sent them a letter stating that i would be charging them £25.00 a day storage. They rang me the next day and collected the following week. You shouldn`t be driving it though should you? If you crash it they will then make you pay for the damage and also prosecute you for TWOC (taking without concent).
You could sell it but only if you intend on clearing the car finance with the payment as the car is theirs, my friend used webuyanycar.com and they took care of all the arrangements with her finance company.0 -
I am in a similar situation, aside from the bankruptcy part.
I have not paid them since the end of November last year. I have had three job interviews all replying to me by Monday, I have a part time job that doesnt which I only just manage to eat with.
I have until next Thursday (end of the month) to tell them:
1. P off I want the car here is something towards the arrears and here is one months payment.
or
2. Take the piece of debt laiden s)&t back and I will pay the difference.
I am thinking of doing the latter as its not worth the hassle.
My heart is saying keep the car I will be working fullt time in the next week or so, but there has to be a point at which you just let go. Thats what my head is saying at least.
Do I keep this fantasy life going or give it back voluntarily? What do they do to recover cars, what charges are there? I have a 12k hp car with 6k left to pay, I have paid just under half (about £2-300 under). Dont they have to go to court?
Plus in January they sent the bogus default letter with no dates on like they do to everyone in trouble. Can I fight the crumby default letter as I have heard of sparse wins in court against welcome.
Either way my credit is screwed!! I have credit cards which are fine and some food and bill money but just not that expendable money they used to get. Advise please??The harder one works the luckier one gets!0
