So today is my first payday since my lightbulb moment, I have been looking forward to this for weeks, as it will be the first time I will be making inroads into my debt. I have also got a healthy chunk of overtime money to spend on clearing some debt.
However, it seems call centres are intent on destroying my soul!
I have 5.7K/6000 on a Lloyds Mastercard, and 200/1000 on a Barclaycard.
My plan was to use the Barclaycard to pay off some of the Lloyds card (£600) and then pay £650 off of my Barclaycard with my debit card, as that would also take care of this month's payment.
However Lloyds will only accept overpayment if it comes from my Lloyds account, and have told me to contact Barclaycard to pay the Mastercard if I wish to do this.
Is this right? Why can't they just accept my money?!

Would that not be what the 'balance transfer' facility is for? I.e. Ask Barclaycard to transfer £600 from your LTSB balance.0

It says on the Barclaycard site:Unfortunately, we're unable to transfer a credit card balance or move money to your current account as you have no offers for either at the moment.
So I need to make a payment I guess, just can't understand why that is so hard?!0 -
Strange. I thought balance transfers were a standard feature of all credit cards...?0
