The extra clicking is annoying, an expand all choice would be useful. The close button isn't really in the right place when reading straight through, you're more likely to want to close after reading the section than at the start of the section if you're doing that. Open/close a the top might be more convenient for a quick look.
Most prominent content was the ad for the mailing list at the top, as usual for articles here. Might be nice not to have that so prominent for those following internal links who are likely to already know about the newsletter - it'd be a nice application of the technology.
For some reason the Learner driver car insurance quick link took me to that section only the first time when I opened in a new window. Subsequent times it took me to the all the contacts section at the bottom of the page. The other quick links continued to take me to the appropriate section.
The content at the learner driver link was a disappointment, focused on young learner drivers - no surprise given the overall article subject but not what I was looking for, content for definitely adult learners. Potentially scope for cross-linking to related content in other articles.0 -
Martin,
As you appear to be reading this thread every now and agin, I like the new format. I agree with some of the forumites who are commenting on the 'close' buttons, and printing could be a tricky one to negotiate (do you want all or just bits), but all in all, you've put it out here for us to test, and you're getting our honest opinions with it.
You've saved me enough money in the past, that I consider road testing the new ideas on the site part of the way we can help pay you back!!!Always on the hunt for a bargain.
Always grateful for any hints, tips or guidance as to where the best deals are:smileyhea0 -
Would it be possible to open the section automatically if you are directed straight to it?
E.g. click on http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/how-to-complain#court and you don't see anything about the Small Claims Court at first glance. You don't even see the word "Court".0 -
The MSE articles are great however I rarely have time to read through them. I wish more articles were added to the MSE youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/MoneySavingExpert#g/u0
