Hello hello!
I'm not buying my dress, so i haven't really been into a proper wedding dress shop. I suspect most of you have, so...
Did you see the boxes they can put your dresses in to take them on a plane? Do you have any idea how much they are? I need to fit my dress in a hand luggage sized box...
Cheers!

Hi,
You can get them on Ebay. I have been looking at them but have decided that I am going to save the money and use a small suitcase that is hand luggage size instead, very MSE !

Hi,
I have been looking into these
http://www.dressinabox.co.uk/DressInABoxAirlineCabinAllowance.htm
They seem quite good & also give you the size related to the different airlines. I've got them bookmarked to get myself one next year.
Cheers

That's what I've done to bring my dress on the plane, I fitted it in a cabin size bag (like a gym bag), and it was fine.I have been looking at them but have decided that I am going to save the money and use a small suitcase that is hand luggage size instead, very MSE !:grinheart It's Mrs Coupon now - saving and comping my way to a brighter future :grinheart0 -
I would invest in a proper dress box - the shop where I got mine from put my dress in it - I would never have got it in as neatly as she did. I took it on as hand luggage and it fitted easily into the over head locker. It also had very few creases once we unpacked it.
I now use the box to store all my wedding momentos in, so it's had two uses!0 -
I am thinking about a Box now, am wondering if I have a box that says "My Wedding Dress" , Will Virgin upgrade us from Economy ?

I used a little carry-on suitcase to take my dress with me. The woman at the checkout told me it was too big (despite us checking it was small enough when we bought it! Grrr, Thomas Cook are not a very nice airline!) and that I'd have to check it with my other luggage but I wobbly lipped it and told her 'But it's my wedding dress!' so she put a priority luggage tag on it and said that I was to hand it in when I boarded the plane, like people do with buggies... but I just took it on with me! I'm a rule breaker!!!
That site that Fawny posted looks good though, maybe I should have looked into getting a proper box... but the MSE in me told me that I'd get more use out of a little suitcase, which actually cost less!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I think i'll get a box
a) i like the trying for an upgrade idea!
b) i like the putting wedding mementos in it idea
c) it's basically indian silk, so anything that helps avoid the creasing gets a thumbs up from me!
Cheers folks xsaving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
