Tired pistachios

I have a bag of pistachios that have lost their snap. I didn't open them until this evening, but have had them in for a while.

If I put them in the oven to refresh them, do you think I need to shell them first?

    Have they split? You can shell them if you wish

    I put my nuts in a covered bowl in the microwave for about a minute to roast
