Defaul on paid loan

Hi checked my credit rating and notice that mint who i paid of in 2008 had put a default on my account at some point which was unstood as did miss the odd few payments! now as i got a lump sum and paid them an offer in 2008 this is still on my credit rating with default and says its 6 years before things get wiped off, as i have payed mint is there anyway i could gewt intouch with them to get rid of the default seen as i have paid them or will they not do that??

    doubt it, it should show as a settled default though. removing the default would goto a status 3 also which would stay on longer
