"James Watt and Our World is a new permanent exhibition at the Science Museum focusing on the renowned engineer and his internationally famous work."

Given the above, I'm pretty sure this is correct, but if someone could please confirm...

I wonder if the answer needs to be more specific - ie. The Steam Engine.

I saw that too on search, plus other things he was involved in, so that's why I was hoping someone could clarify for certain.

If he invented the steam engine, I don't think that counts as revolutionising an industrial technology.

    Perhaps power generation, or engines?

This article on Watt on the London Science Museum website (they are sponsoring the prize) may provide the answer!

Sounds as though it is power (steam)

He didn't invent the Steam Engine he improved it's performance so the answer must be Steam Engine.

    From Wiki

James Watt, FRS, FRSE (19 January 1736 – 25 August 1819)[1] was a Scottish inventor and mechanical engineer whose improvements to the Newcomen steam engine were fundamental to the changes brought by the Industrial Revolution in both the Kingdom of Great Britain and the world.
