Does anyone know- Halifax loan token payment.

Options
Hi guys.

Me again! Sorry...
Does anyone happen to know the sort code & account number for making token payments to Halifax personal loans?
I only have a roll number 7/etc which i cant use to set a standing order up & Halifax wont tell me the details of how to pay over the phone as I cant remember the amount I originally borrowed 6 years ago!!!
After eventually getting them to agree to accept £1 per month it seems they are doing everything they can to stop me paying it!

Thanks in advance xxx

Sounds like they want to take you to court by citing that you did not pay as agreed. Use the Postal Order and signed-for post method instead. They can't agrue they didn't get it then, you'll have a record.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

Wow they really do want you to look bad don't they. Do you by any chance have a house they think they can try for a chunk of? They can try to make you look bad, but if it does come to a court and £1/month is all you can afford then that's all that you would be ordered to pay. In your shoes I would be making sure I was prepared for being taken to court by getting in order the proof of them being really difficult.

Have you got the old signed-for receipts/tracking numbers and/or have the letters been returned to you by Royal Mail marked as unable to deliver? If you have then great hang on to them. If not then start sending your payments in the post again and keep the proof that they refused to accept them.

Also write to them and ask for a sort code and account number. Send that signed for too. No reason it can't be in the envelope the same as the payment. If they don't accept that or if they don't reply to it will be very telling too.

I'm sure you already have but, double check the address you are sending things too as well, just in case.

If they do get you to court and you can prove that you have done everything that can be reasonably expected to try to repay this debt and they are not letting you the judge will look upon them dimly. They might get a CCJ, but I would expect if/when you defend that it'd be set at that £1 a month. Your SOA needs to back up that you can only afford a token payment of course, but that goes without saying. If LTSB already accepted to allow you to send £1 then your circumstances must be pretty dire, usually creditors just refuse to take them.

Hi Viczxy - how's it going? Have you managed to sell the house? how's progress? Apart from Halifax being a pain in the whatsit that is.
You could always write a stiff complaint letter to them and then if they refuse to answer that or you don't get any sense out of them then take them to the ombudsman for being obstructive - depends if you want a fight or not really I guess.
Hope you are feeling better than you did previously.
