My credit rating

Options
My partner has ran up debts and now has a very poor credit rating, where as i have a pretty good rating. We have a mortgage and a joint account together, will her poor credit rating adversly effect my good credit rating and my chances of getting a reasonable loan to help her? Thanks

Yes - if you are shown as financially associated it is likely it will affect your chances of being accepted for new credit and/or the rate that you would receive if you were accepted.

More credit to solve a debt problem is rarely the way to go. Consider contacting a specialist advisor to get an idea what solutions are open to her. Avoid the sharks by reading this: Debt Problems: What to do & where to get help
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
