I signed up for a free trial, plus 750 boots points, and have ended up paying for 2 months, and now they refuse to give me my points.
It's my fault, but it's easily done. here's my advice.
Don't make the mistake of changing anything once you are set up! I changed my account to "3 at home" instead of "1 at home", and was immediately charged one month's fee. I think they don't make it very clear that this is an instant charge, and they certainly don't warn you before you select that option.
Also, I started to cancel my account, but before I sent back the last dvd, I was charged for another month. So as I had already paid, I selected to reverse the cancellation, and saw something like "congratulations, by reversing your cancellation you have will automatically be charged for a further month"
aargh! I have ended up paying £30 (a lot of money for me) . Now, I'm fighting to get the Boots points. I have emailed so many times, and their latest excuse is "you must have 10 films selected to be eligible for points"
The thing is, I did have 10 selected, it's just that I have none selected now as I have cancelled!
anyway, I know it's not all their fault, but please proceed with caution as it's easy to be caught out!0 -
Thanks for the warning. I signed up today mainly to get my hands on that Boots voucher and intend to cancel at the first opportunity but its good to know about the 'strings' in advance. I did use LoveFilm before but cancelled due to the amount of messing about with my DD and like you, I lost money because of it. They won't catch me out twice!!0

I didn't think you could sign up again to a free trial after doing one before. Are you at a different address now or something?0
