Hello, I'm not certain this is the correct board apologies if not,
Im in need of some advice, I consider my self relatively clued up on CRAs and credit scoring however...
Got my self into some stupid debt a few years back, it is now all entirely paid off, I have a good income, secure work in the military, have married and expecting our first child in 20 weeks
I defaulted on 6 accounts, all show as satisfied.
Orange
Vodafone
02
DCA (I wont name)
Natwest Current Account
Natwest C/C
I know bank with Lloyds - I have 3 accounts and a savings account.
My Own current account, A joint account with my wife and a contingency account which I pay £30 a month into.
I have a mobile contract with O2, I have a credit builder account (wont show until may) and have applied for a Vanquis Visa card.
So I have the 4 positive accounts (all with lovely green ticks) showing on my credit report, I have 2, 3 yr old phone contracs all Satisfactory and 2 loans, 1 has late payments showing but is also satisfactory.
I rang Lloyds today to transfer some funds, and the kind lady informed me that there is a company 'restricting' me from obtaining credit... so I cant increase my overdraft or get a credit card.
hmmmm is this possible??? Or is she reffering to my defaults?
Due to the fact that I am looking to obtain a mortgage soon, I have been working hard to repair my credit reports, I have successfully negotiated with Orange and the DCA who have both removed the defaults (and I have seen them to be gone
)
I'm waiting to hear back from Natwest and 02, but Vodafone are playing hardball at the moment.
Also, since my wife and I are now financially connected I am aware that my poor history will affect her (she has a sound financial history) but will her good report increase my chances since I am the main earner it needs to be me that is the main applicant for a mortgage.
And1 final thing, I have a lt of different addresses showing, this is due to a badly numbered flat we lived in (same address shows about 8 different ways) and the fact that my job causes to me move about frequenty. Can I ask the CRA to remove any of these or at least change the flat address to show as 1 address instead of 8?
Sorry its so long winded, hope someone can offer some advice.
Thanks very much!

Hi
Not got much help to be honest but well done on getting the defaults settled and also getting some removed.
I can not think of any company that would tell a bank not to give you any credit it would be up to LLoyds. I beleive most banks have there own internal credit score as well as using external credit refrences. How long have you banked with them? It may be a case that you haven't banked long enough with them to have your internal credit score increased (hope that made sense)
Regards to the addresse it may be possible to contact the Credit Reference agency and see about them correcting the address so it only shows the correct one rather than variations of the same address - if you don't ask you won't know.Feb 2012 Grocery Challenge £200/£4.00

i remember the experian rep on here saying the other day that multiple records of the same address won't be seen by any lender so won't effect how they score you. can't do any harm to get them corrected all the same.
the lady must have meant the defaukts when she was talking about restricting credit0
