Is it too late?

My friend got a loan from Halifax in 2002 for £2500 but has just realised that his payments @ £76.45 /month means he actually "borrowed" £4590, is this just from the interest or is it PPI? He is going to dig out his initial paperwork tonight to check but will it actually say PPI or is it called something else?
Also, if PPI has been included is it too late for him to cancel it as the loan ends in April 2007?

What was the term of the loan?
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

5 years by the look of it. Started in 2002 and finishing next year.

  • If he has PPI he will get next to nothing back on it!
Premium is loaded towards early years when o/s amount is at its highest level.
To be honest with only 6 months to go I would leave it in case he breaks a leg!
