How many interviews have people been on before getting an offer?

I have been job hunting since February last year after being made redundant. I have now been on 12 interviews with varying results:
3 of the jobs were withdrawn after they were offered to me (reasons being client withdrawing and budget not being approved x 2 - annoying that they only sought approval after interviewing)
2 of the interviews resulted in offers of temporary roles which I took and completed
The remaining 7 interviews I was unsuccessful at and two of them never came back with feedback.
I keep getting told I am lucky to get the interviews in this market but it doesn't feel lucky as I still don't have a permanent job. I do acknowledge that my interview technique/confidence has probably improved a great deal as the more successful interviews are the recent ones. I cringe thinking about the earlier ones.
I am just curious as to other people's experiences and if 12 seems like an excessive number of interviews to have been on and still not gotten a job (in which case I really need to work on technique).

Between January and March, I think I had 7 interviews before receiving the job offer I start next week. The last three I received offers for, one I got a phone call saying I was unsuccessful and the other three were a sweet FA.0

I've been unemployed since the beginning of the year. I've applied for over 20 jobs so far and only had 2 interviews, needless to say I didn't get either of the jobs.Saved: £1566.53/ £20000

Good luck with the new job! Good going if you only started looking in January.0 -
I think you are doing well, 12 interviews in just over a year, roughly 1 a month and several offerred you positions (even if they did fall thru or were temp ones).
In a 2 year period I got thru to 4 interviews. 1 I was a 'close second' and that's as near as I got. I got my job (temp as an agency worker) by the agency picking up my details off the net, a week after I'd put them on and where I work needing someone asap, and me not needing many hours and happy to do something basic which I'm over-qualified for (but don't have enough recent experience).0 -
Last year I had 5 interviews. Was rejected for 4 of them and got offered a position for 1. However that job fell through and this year I've had a total of 2 interviews. I'm still waiting to hear the outcome for those and it doesn't look like I'll be getting a response in the near future. Its good you're getting to the interview stage because getting one nowadays is even more difficult due to increasing competition.0

I tend to have 3 job interviews before being taken on. Can I just say well done for getting 12 interviews - I know that sounds a bit patronising but I truly mean it.... At my work we're seeing 175 - 200 applications for every job! Your CV is obviously really good and you must come across well at interview

5 months unemployed, approx 10 serious CV/applications sent out. 7 interviews offered, got job number 6 so cancelled interview 7).
Went on various job search freebie training as it was clear I needed interview skills, learnt loads of useful techniques. Had CV critiqued by NextStep & a job club I attended rub by a charity.
In my view as much free help as poss should be sought out - you don't have to take it all on board, but I'd usually get a useful snippet or three (& a fair bit of contradictory advice).0 -

Honestly, I was starting to to panic. Last of the student loan is running out, and I can't claim benefits [graduate this year] until the end of June.
The contract lasts until October, at least there is benefits there. Hope something comes of the applications from Historic Scotland or HarperCollins.

I'm in my final year at university and been searching for my ideal job as I don't want to finish uni without a job if possible!
I had 4 interviews from all my applications. Funny thing was I had these 4 interviews in a 8 day period!
I got rejected for two jobs before getting a call for second interview for dream job. An hour and a half later got the call to say they wish to hire me! I even managed to increase the salary they were going to give me
although the salary is still slightly lower than other jobs I had applied for but hey, a job is a job and its my ideal job
"No likey no need to hit thanks button!":pHowever its always nice to be thanked if you feel mine and other people's posts here offer great advice:D So hit the button if you likey:rotfl:0
