Presents and holiday figure are both estimates. Not to forget there are 7 of us in the house.
Congrats on your actions re the jobsearch. This quote suggests a spendind diary really is key as, if you ae not putting the £100 for presents and £180 holiday money aside each month, then you are possibly (probably) spending more than you think you are spending each month on other stuff.

Look at old bank statements and use a spending diary to see where your money goes and then if it is very different post an updated SOA for advice.

    Good luck

Hi, we live in a big Victorian house with high ceilings and single glazed huge windows too, it's a nightmare keeping warmish but at least we are in a relatively warm part of the country. So sending out rays of sympathy. Have you got fireplaces in every room, we have and discovered we were losing loads of heat up them, you can buy chimney balloons but we just stuffed up bin liners with loft insulation in, leaving a little gap for ventilation. We also got some double glazing film from Wickes and put it up at nearly every window, this made a huge difference and wasn't too expensive. Also keep a look out for deals on loft insulation, we got lots of rolls from Homebase last summer, from memory it was something like buy 1 get 3 or 4 free. Your gas bill is still enormous though, you haven't got an Aga running all the time I suppose?
Good luck with the job too! Keep us posted. x Pops
