Do I transfer my Civil Service Pension into the USS scheme?

So, I recently moved jobs within my organisation. The organisation has 3 different offices, and three different employers as a result. I have therefore moved from a Civil Service employer to a university employer.
I have now been given the choice of whether or not I want to transfer my 8 years of Civil Service 'premium' pension into the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) which would apparently buy me 11 yrs 180 days of pensionable service in USS.
I should really know more about pensions but, alas, I've no idea what's the best thing to do! For info, I'm 34, female and planning on leaving my organisation within the next year.
Any ideas/advice very gratefully received! Happy to provide certain further info if necessary. BTW, I need to make a decision in 48 hours!!

How much would the deferred pension from the CS scheme be on its own if you didn't transfer & how much would the USS one be if you did & left on any specific date "within a year" ? Take the bigger option, checking whether one or the other includes an automatic lump sum.
I'm assuming you won't get a deferred in USS if you're there less than 2 years. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

Why did he think "systolic" ?0
