Can I get threatened with the sack over this?

I quite agree, being tired isnt an illness and it sounds quite pathetic when seeing it typed!

Yes, my employer is aware of me being pregnant and he is also aware that I want as little stress as possible as my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage so this time around i am very nervous. Again, not an excuse and at the end of the day he has a business to run!

No, he has not done a risk assessment and i doubt very much he will do one unless i ask for one.

I apologise if this sounds racist, it definately isnt! I am white english and share roles with my partner, im mum and he is dad. My boss however, is Indian...he makes the babies and then the mums raise them. End of! His culture is completely different to mine, he has no experience with children either so he is very rude when it comes to anything child related- even childcare with my dd.

My point was that he is completely aware of my concerns, but his threatening attitude has made me feel uncomfortable and i feel i cannot approach him very easily.

Also, i havent refused to do any other cover before but this time I really feel i will struggle to look after my daughter and work a 5 day week. (My OH works away a lot).

Perhaps the new Equality Act 2010 section 18 may have something which covers your situation. - Linky

Instead of putting random links into posts maybe you could explain why you think the link has relevance?

It would help us all to learn.

    Xmas Saver!
As an employer he has a duty to do a risk assesment for pregnancy, from memory the assesment is done after 12 weeks, (thou things may have changed), even thou in the contract it says "as required", - there is a minimum time that they have to give you, but would check with Acas to see what that is.
I full appriciate the tiredness, I know when I was expecting DD, I was exhausted, I had the morning sickness from hell, and I ended up going off work at 7 weeks sick,

Digressing - as you haven't been there 12 months, you have no employment rights, which I guess is why he has said parting company, - there are rights related to pregnacy.

sorry to ask, but how far gone are you?
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Compromise is probably the key and considering your last pregnancy has he done a risk assessment as he knows?

If no put it in writing and maybe put some information about how it is an employers duty.

However be prepared that he could try and dismiss you and there is a chance he will but for your health then this maybe a risk you will have to take (only you can decide this)
